Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, introspection and prayer for Muslims, the followers of Islam. Each day during Ramadan, Muslims do not eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. It's also a month where the Iftar (the evening meal which breaks the fast) is the occasion to bring closer families and friends. In Turkey, companies will often invite their employees to share this meal, others will organise Iftar and help charities with the proceeds collected or people will simply buy and send out Ramadan boxes full of yummy goods. I hoped to be able to share a meal with all the knitting mothers of bebemoss but the city is vast and our 3 main groups are located so far away that I did not want to add the burden for them to commute. Instead we send them a box of useful dry foods, oil and olives and other yummy things so that they can enjoy them with their families.
Ramadan Mubarak!
