Celebrating the strength, courage and resilience of millions of refugees around the globe

This World Refugee Day bebemoss and the social enterprise Sector7 manufacturing our toys is celebrating the strength, courage and resilience of all the refugee moms working with us but also of millions of refugees around the world.

2021 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1951 Refugee Convention adopted by the United nations outlining the right of refugees and legal obligations of the signatory states to protect them.

Fleeing war, persecution, poverty and natural disasters refugees are the most vulnerable people in the world. We would like to underline the core principle of this convention which is that: a refugee shall not be returned to a country where he or she would face serious threats to his or her life or freedomstill today often "forgotten" by many countries and policies.

Did you know that by mid 2020, 80 million people were displaced worldwide as a result of a conflict or violence?

Despite COVID 19 many organizations like UNHCR, bring continuous  help and support to refugees around the globe. Many smaller NGOs like Hayata Destek, MUDEM and many others worked tirelessly on the ground in Turkey to support the largest refugee community on the globe with over 4 million refugees.

Amazing initiatives like MADE51 empower social enterprises to bring beautiful refugee made artisanal products to the global market, I want to thank all social enterprises part of this initiative for providing work for refugees and supporting them everyday. Together we empower over 3000 refugees. We should not forget our amazing customers, yes you guys buying our products and also companies that source from us.
